I know how devastating chronic illness can be. My daughter became unwell following a viral illness and after many investigations and review by specialists was diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome aged just 7. What followed was a harrowing, confusing, frustrating, painful and often lonely two and a half years. How could our fun-loving child come to spend so much time in bed, not able to attend school, play with friends or enjoy life like her friends could do. At aged 10 she was just about managing one hour of home tutoring per day, suffered from extreme fatigue, constant headaches, vertigo, and other issues. Perhaps most upsetting for a mother was her hatred of her life lived like this. We were desperate for answers. We were desperate for treatments. We were desperate for hope. Hope that the medical profession - of which myself and my husband are a part - were unable to give us.
Then I heard about the Lightning Process. For the first time in a long long time I was given hope.
If the testimonies of others were to be believed then this had the potential to bring the positive changes we were hoping for. If it could work for them, then why not for our daughter. As a GP I could understand the power of the mind - body connection, and the possibility that changing the way we think could change physical things in the body. My husband - also a medical professional - was more sceptical - but we had nothing to lose.
So, a few weeks after initially chatting with our practitioner, Rebecca and I arrived for the 3 day course. Our practitioner was wonderful with Rebecca, and able to get everything to a level that she was able to understand - there isn’t anything really very complicated in the Lightning Process! It was reassuring for me to be able to be with her all the time, to have my questions answered along the way, and to know that Rebecca was happy and understanding the process too. And Rebecca gradually improved day by day. It wasn't easy. It was hard work - for myself and Rebecca- as a commitment to using the Lightning Process is needed. Just knowing about it doesn’t lead to change - but putting it into practice really does. It was so very definitely worth the effort.
The Lightning Process gave us our daughter back. Today she is a happy, thriving, energetic teenager - who loves school, netball and art (here is one of her recent dog portraits!). I honestly think she would still be battling with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome had we not discovered the Lightning Process.
I am passionate that others should be given the same opportunity to transform their lives and health for the better.
That is why I do what I do.

At Home With Dr Anna
I’m married to Chells and we have two amazing children. In 2014 we moved from Leicester, my university home of 18 years, to return to my roots in Cornwall.
I’m blessed to live in such a beautiful place, with extended family close at hand.
Whisper and Sandy (our 2 bounding labradors) ensure there is always a lively welcome at home and I love walking them along the dramatic Cornish cliffs - whatever the weather!
I continue to work part-time as a local GP, and enjoy connecting with patients in this more traditional setting.
